Morning walk through Hyde Park before a frantic tube ride to Buckingham Palace for a changing of the guards- for those who haven't already done so- we recommend seeing Buckingham Palace at 11am for this event! It happens daily and gives a little more excitement to the 'must-see'.
For brekky we walked via Wholefoods market which is like a massive Thomas-dux type chain... But on steroids. Massive self-serve salad, pasta and curry bars... Juice bars with everything you could imagine.. It had a Self-serve porridge bar, a huge display of paistries (not the best croissant around, but still amazing) ... Granola parfaits and the greatest snacks we'd ever seen. There are a tone around London and we definitely recommend fitting a visit in!!
We headed to Nottinghill for the day and after getting seriously lost finally found Westbourne Grove! We were all seriously excited to check out Loft , Zadig and Voltaire and most importantly eat at "granger and co" which is Bill Granger (Australian chef) 's restaurant! Which Matilda declared her best London meal!! Generous portions, amaze flavors and great service... A little on the expensive side (still only £15 for a meal) but 100% worth it!
Purchases were made at Zadig and Voltaire - we loved their stuff! really fine basics in every kind of colour.. interesting leather clutches and great layering pieces! We were a little disappointed with Loft- although it had its usual fine t-shirts and cashmere cardis their colours were limited to navy's, Greys, whites and blacks.
Home via Wholefoods where we picked up dinner and lots of wine before drinks on our balcony overlooking Hyde park and plugged our iPods into our speakers!
Next we headed to Sloane square where we had a drink with a family friend of Jess' and her boyfriend. More wine and Antonia lead us to a club in Sloane Square.. We really wish we could tell you it's name...but we can't because we didn't notice.. The intimate low-ceilinged club could be compared to nothing in Melbourne.. Exotic dancers scattered about the dance floor, a steam-train carrying tequila shots, private booths with tables and Belevedere all attracted a pretty expensive crowd. The ratio was nothing to complain about either... The DJ was nothing exciting- a lot of top 40 remixes.
Dancing till the early hours before chicken nuggets and burgers meant we got very little sleep before our flight to Amsterdam this morning...definitely worth it!
