Had such a great day together!
We ended up in London Fields to visit Belle's cousin, Sarah, who took us to this really really cool cafe. The whole area reminded us of Brunswick, Melbourne.....but way cooler! Mainly because it was full of low-key cafes with simple, understated wooden seating that served really good organic food + coffee!
The cafe "La Bouche" (meaning 'the mouth' in French) had one of the greatest LUNCH menus - so healthy- and so cheap!! A super large serve of hearty salad (not stingy with heaps of leaves) was £3.60 and the coffee (which is super sized here) was also cheap and awesome! The cafe had everything from toasties to lamb flat bread to quiches!
For DINNER we walked up the road to Muriel's Kitchen which we decided is the equivalent to Cooper and Millers in Melbourne..... But again way cooler! We all found ourselves talking about how great the service was- the waiters all wore baby-blue and white checked aprons that matched the crockery. The kitchen was decked with cute interiors like flower pots, plates on walls and made us feel very much at home. We sat at a kitchen-bench-esq setting and sipped on Rose pink lemonade! Most importantly: The food was great! Grainy salads, gourmet lasagne's, grilled salmon, and a serious selection of cakes and brownies! Would definitely recommend paying them a visit- we'll be heading back for brekky before heading to Amsterdam!
Couldnt resist more sweets so we got F R O Y O: "snogging is healthy and natural" is SNOG's quote! Chocolate and greentea flavored frozen yoghurt covered in berries.
Finally..Peppermint tea and a movie in our living room to get over jetlag + give an end to a great day!
